Carrie Underwood & Papa Roach Rock Las Vegas In A Star-Studded Surprise Performance

by Coco

Sin City got a powerful dose of country and rock when Carrie Underwood teamed up with Papa Roach for an unforgettable surprise performance on April 5 at the MGM Grand Arena. The collaboration was part of Papa Roach’s ongoing tour, but it took the audience by storm with a one-of-a-kind musical fusion.

Underwood, 42, and Papa Roach — Jacoby Shaddix, Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance, and Tony Palermo — kicked off their show with a heartfelt duet of “Leave a Light on (Talk Away the Dark).” The emotional track, originally from Papa Roach’s 2022 album Ego Trip, got a new life when Underwood lent her powerhouse vocals to the mix, giving the crowd an intimate and powerful rendition.

The duo then brought the house down with Papa Roach’s iconic anthem “Last Resort,” celebrating the 25th anniversary of the track. Underwood and Shaddix, 48, couldn’t have been more thrilled to rock out together, as they shared the stage with electric chemistry and pure excitement.

It was a night of firsts: the very first time Carrie Underwood and Papa Roach performed live together. And what a performance it was! Underwood shared her excitement, saying, “This collaboration has meant so much to me. Getting to perform ‘Leave a Light on’ live with Jacoby for the first time was incredibly special.”

She added, “And then jumping into ‘Last Resort?’ That was just pure adrenaline. I was so incredibly excited to rock out on stage with the guys.”

For Shaddix, it was a monumental moment as well. “What a night it was in Vegas. To finally do ‘Leave a Light on’ live with Carrie Underwood was so rad, especially after all the work we’ve been doing to raise awareness for suicide prevention,” the Papa Roach frontman told People.

The collaboration isn’t just about the music – it’s a powerful cause. The song “Leave a Light on” has become a symbol of hope, with both Underwood and Papa Roach pledging to donate a portion of the royalties to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Through the track, they aim to raise awareness and support those affected by suicide.

Shaddix emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying, “I am so grateful to be able to bring two worlds together for such a great cause.”

Underwood and Papa Roach are both committed to continuing the fight for suicide prevention, making this collaboration even more meaningful for their fans.
