Kanye West has returned to Instagram to share an update on his daughter North West’s debut album.
On January 20, the 47-year-old rapper posted several updates, including one featuring 11-year-old North, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, as well as his other children: Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
In the post, Kanye explained how his daughter has rekindled his love for music. “This little girl made me love music again ,” he wrote, sharing a black-and-white photo of North in the studio. She’s wearing a striped sweatshirt, denim shorts, and fur boots, with a keyboard in the background.
Kanye continued, revealing that North asked him to create beats for her album. “I got back on the ASR, chopped up beats for her album, and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY,” he shared, referencing his own album in progress, Bully.
Malik Yusef, a collaborator of Kanye’s, commented on the post, praising his work. “Yes sir, you definitely did that. I’ve been a witness… it’s really good to see the young God YE doing pure magic!!!!”
In addition, Kanye posted a black-and-white video of North walking into the studio with WRLDFMS Tony Williams, his cousin. He captioned the video, “TRAINING 2.0.”
Last year, North contributed vocals to her father’s Vultures series, lending her voice to tracks like “Talking” and “Bomb.”
Kanye is also focused on his upcoming solo album Bully, which he teased earlier this month in now-deleted Instagram posts. He reunited with producer Mike Dean to work on the album, according to Billboard.
In March 2024, North revealed the title of her debut album, Elementary School Dropout, during a listening party for Kanye’s album Vultures 2. The album’s title is a nod to Kanye’s 2004 album The College Dropout.
North recently shared that Kanye is her biggest style influence, explaining in an interview with Interview Magazine that she loves streetwear and ’90s fashion, citing her father, Tyler, the Creator, and herself as her style inspirations.
