Teyana Taylor has accused her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, of leaking details about their divorce settlement, sparking a heated legal battle.
In court documents filed on March 18, Taylor claimed that Shumpert shared confidential information with the media, leading to false reports about their divorce. She requested that the court hold him in contempt and sought a hearing, along with financial penalties and legal fees.
Taylor alleged that after posting photos with her new boyfriend, Aaron Pierre, on Oscar night, fake divorce settlements began circulating in the media. She believes this was no coincidence and that Shumpert may have leaked the information to promote his rap career.
However, Shumpert’s attorney, Stephen C. Steele, vehemently denied these allegations. Steele stated that Shumpert has complied with the court order sealing their divorce records and will continue to do so, expressing no interest in discussing private details with the media.
Taylor took to Instagram Live to clarify that she never sought to have Shumpert arrested but filed a motion to ensure he leaves her alone. She also addressed rumors about their divorce, stating that she paid for all her assets and was awarded four properties by the court.
The couple’s divorce was finalized on July 1, 2024, with both parties receiving assets awarded by the court. Taylor emphasized that there was no settlement, contrary to media reports.
As the drama unfolds, Taylor expressed frustration that news about her divorce surfaces whenever she achieves career milestones. She hopes to move on with her life in peace.
