Justin Bieber’s recent behavior has sparked concern among those once closest to him. According to a source who spoke exclusively with PEOPLE, the pop star is “facing a lot of different demons right now” and making choices that are “further impacting friendships, money, and business.”
“He’s not himself lately,” the insider added. “People are worried about him.”
This update follows a Hollywood Reporter article alleging that the 31-year-old singer was left millions in debt after canceling his Justice World Tour. While Bieber’s camp has firmly denied these claims—labeling them “clickbait stupidity”—the rumors have added to the growing speculation about the star’s state of mind.
The “Peaches” hitmaker has also been making waves with emotional social media posts, where he’s been candid about struggles with self-worth and mental health. In March, he posted on Instagram about feeling like a “fraud,” sharing, “I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much.”
Insiders say that Bieber’s split from longtime manager Scooter Braun—who announced his retirement earlier this year—has left him without a strong guiding presence. Complicating matters, he’s also distanced himself from his once-buzzed-about fashion label, Drew House. In a now-deleted Instagram Story, Bieber wrote:
“I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand… Drew House doesn’t represent me or my family or life. If ur rocking with me the human Justin Bieber, don’t waste ur money on Drew House.”
Bieber is reportedly shifting his creative focus to a new clothing line called SKYLRK, though details remain under wraps.
The Baby singer’s name has also resurfaced amid headlines involving music mogul Diddy, with whom Bieber had past associations in the mid-2010s. While he is not involved in the legal matters, the looming case adds another layer of stress, according to sources.
Adding to the public concern, a former team member told THR that Bieber is “lost” and that “there’s no one protecting him.” The source added, “You say no, you get blown out.”
Despite swirling rumors, Bieber has continued to share glimpses of vulnerability with fans. He recently posted a reflective video of himself playing music, writing, “I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic… I still hate when I change myself to please people.”
While his reps insist he’s committed to personal growth and “forging his own way forward,” those who once stood closest to the superstar are watching from the sidelines with growing concern.
