During a new chat with iHeartRadio, Selena opened up about her deep bond with Taylor. She recalled the moment she shared her hit song, “Lose You to Love Me,” with Taylor and her mom, Andrea Swift, before it was released.
The moment got incredibly emotional. “When I played her ‘Lose You to Love Me,’ right before it came out, she and her amazing mom started crying. Then, I started crying too,” Selena shared. “It was such a sweet, emotional time.”
Selena also praised Taylor’s honesty when it comes to her music. “I really value her opinion,” Selena said. “She’s always super honest with me, and that’s so helpful. I love people who keep it real.”
In case you missed it, Selena just dropped a new collab album with her fiancé, Benny Blanco. It’s called I Said I Love You First, and Taylor couldn’t help but shout it out on her Instagram Stories. “I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD,” Taylor wrote.
Selena and Taylor’s friendship goes way back. The two met back in the 2000s when they were both starting their careers in music. They even shared a double date with the Jonas Brothers, with Taylor dating Joe Jonas and Selena with Nick Jonas at the time.
And the friendship is still going strong! After Selena’s engagement to Benny in December, Taylor happily agreed to be part of their wedding. “Yes, I will be the flower girl,” Taylor commented under the couple’s Instagram announcement.
Her new album, I Said I Love You First, hit shelves on March 21, 2025, and fans are already loving it.
