The curtain has closed on New Kent County singer Grayson Torrence’s American Idol journey, as he was eliminated during the highly anticipated Top 20 reveal.
On April 20, viewers across the nation cast their votes for the next round of finalists in the hit singing competition. Torrence, who had made it to the Top 24, was unfortunately not selected to move forward in the next round of 12 contestants.
Sunday night’s episode featured powerful performances as contestants sang alongside music legend Lionel Richie in a themed round titled Songs of Faith. Despite his elimination, Torrence delivered a memorable performance that showcased his vocal talent and emotional depth.
The results were announced by longtime host Ryan Seacrest both on-air and across American Idol’s social media platforms.
While Torrence’s time on the show has ended, fans can continue to follow the excitement as American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
