Pop star and TV personality JoJo Siwa left fans speechless this weekend after revealing her real name on the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother — and it’s not JoJo.
During a candid moment captured on camera, Siwa opened up to fellow housemate Ella Rae Wise, explaining how she separates her public persona from her private identity.
“I separate my life into two people, right? JoJo and Joelle,” she explained. “Typically when I date somebody, they start to really get to know Joelle… but they’re both always present at all times. Right now, I’m Joelle, but JoJo is still here, you know what I mean? Joelle runs JoJo!”
The revelation? JoJo’s real name is Joelle Joanie Siwa.
Despite her long-standing fame since Dance Moms, many fans were unaware of her birth name. The internet quickly exploded with reactions.
“you’re telling me that jojo siwa’s real name is JOELLE??????” one shocked fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“i was today years old when i found out that jojo siwa’s real name is joelle joanie siwa,” another echoed.
JoJo, now 21, has been making headlines throughout her time on Celebrity Big Brother. Just last week, she was at the center of controversy following inappropriate remarks from fellow housemate Mickey Rourke. The actor allegedly made unsettling comments about Siwa’s sexuality, claiming he would “turn her” and even said he would “tie her up.”
The disturbing comments led to Rourke’s swift removal from the house by producers.
Despite the drama, JoJo has remained composed and candid, continuing to show her authentic self — both as JoJo and Joelle — to viewers tuning in around the world.
