Justin Bieber was back in Indio, California, for the second weekend of Coachella, but this time, his appearance raised some eyebrows.
In a fan-captured video posted on April 20, the 31-year-old singer is seen shirtless, dancing with the crowd, and holding what fans believe to be a marijuana blunt. As the camera zooms in, Bieber can be seen moving to his right, eventually standing next to his 15-year-old brother, Jaxon. Bieber, who has four half-siblings including Jaxon, seems to enjoy the moment, showing off his dance moves in the lively crowd.
In the video, Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, can also be seen placing her hands on Jaxon’s back. Jaxon then begins walking away from Justin, and the camera pans back to Bieber, who’s back to dancing and enjoying the performance.
Justin’s actions at Coachella come after a few public moments that have raised some concerns among fans and people close to him. Not long before Coachella, Bieber was spotted at Sexyy Red’s birthday party, where fans noted he seemed happy and carefree—though his interaction with the rapper sparked some mixed reactions when compared to his behavior around Hailey.
A source close to Justin’s former circle told PEOPLE that many are worried about him, stating, “He is facing a lot of different demons right now” and that his recent actions are affecting his friendships, money, and business. The insider also added, “People are worried about him.”
In addition to the Coachella video, there have been rumors about Bieber’s finances and mental health. According to one of Justin’s former team members, the pop star is feeling “lost” and facing millions of dollars in debt after canceling his Justice Tour in 2022.
However, Justin’s rep quickly shot down these claims, calling them “clickbait stupidity” and adding that the sources were “ill-informed” and “disappointed” former employees. The statement reassured fans that Justin remains focused on moving forward and staying true to the “right path” despite the rumors.
While there may be some controversy surrounding Justin right now, he and Hailey certainly know how to throw a party. During the first weekend of Coachella, the couple hosted a star-studded A-list event at the Red Bull Mirage. Celebrities like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tate McRae, and Tobey Maguire were just a few of the famous faces in attendance, along with Justin’s close friends.
Despite the worries and rumors, Justin and Hailey continue to keep a busy social calendar, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next for the couple.
