Taylor Swift Earns Six Nominations For The American Music Awards

Taylor Swift is making waves again at the American Music Awards (AMAs)! The superstar is up for an impressive six nominations this year.

After a two-year break, the AMAs are returning on May 26, and Swift is a top contender in categories including Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Album of the Year, Favorite Pop Album, Collaboration of the Year, and Favorite Touring Artist.

The awards show will be live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day weekend. You can tune in at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+ to catch all the excitement.

Fans can vote for their favorite artists, and Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s nominations with a total of 10 in eight categories. If he wins them all, he’ll tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year.

Taylor Swift, who made history in 2022 by becoming the most decorated artist at the AMAs, is hoping to add to her impressive collection. The “Bejeweled” singer was thrilled to accept her Artist of the Year award last year, praising her fans for supporting her nonstop.

“In the past few years, I have released more music than I did in the entire decade preceding that,” she said as she held her triangular glass trophy. “I really feel like that’s down to the fact you, the fans, made it clear that you wanted to hear lots of music that I would make.”

Swift has an 82% chance of winning, thanks to her 15 years of nominations and 40 total wins. Here’s a quick look at some of her past awards:

  • 2022: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Album (“Red (Taylor’s Version)”), Favorite Country Female Artist
  • 2021: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Female Artist
  • 2020: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist
  • 2019: Artist of the Decade, Artist of the Year
  • 2018: Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year (“Reputation Stadium Tour”)
  • 2015: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“Blank Space”)

And the list goes on! Swift’s success at the AMAs stretches all the way back to 2008 when she was named Favorite Country Female Artist.
