In a dramatic twist worthy of a Hollywood script, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have been swept into a legal storm surrounding the upcoming film It Ends With Us, placing their friendship under public scrutiny.
Justin Baldoni, who stars in and directs the film, is facing serious accusations from Lively, who claims sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni has retaliated with a staggering $400 million countersuit for defamation and extortion.
Now, in a stunning legal filing, Baldoni’s lawyers allege that Blake Lively threatened to leak Taylor Swift’s private texts if the pop star didn’t publicly support her.
According to Baldoni’s legal team, an anonymous but allegedly credible source informed them that Lively pressured Swift to issue a public statement backing her in the lawsuit.
The claim goes as far as to say Lively even asked Swift to delete messages and subtly threatened to expose “personal” texts if Swift refused.
Swift’s spokesperson swiftly shut down the claims, issuing a strong denial, and clarified that the singer had no involvement in the movie aside from licensing a single song.
“This subpoena is using Taylor Swift’s name for clickbait,” the rep said, emphasizing that Swift had no role in casting, editing, or producing the film and had not even seen it until its release.
Lively’s attorney also slammed the accusation as “categorically false,” accusing Baldoni’s legal team of turning a “serious legal matter” into tabloid fodder. They promised legal action in response to what they call reckless and harmful misconduct.
The legal crossfire comes amid an already highly publicized dispute, with Swift and Lively—frequent companions at red carpet events and NFL games—now unwillingly thrust into the center of celebrity legal drama.
Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds and actor Hugh Jackman, also close friends with the duo, have been named as potential witnesses. A source claims that no celebrity is off-limits when it comes to subpoenas in the case.
Still, insiders close to Swift and Jackman say they were never privy to the internal conflict and called their inclusion in legal threats a “smoke and mirrors” distraction from the allegations against Baldoni.
