Megan Moroney has a secret—she’s a “Loyal Belieber,” and it’s not just a phase! In a candid new interview with Rolling Stone, the 27-year-old country singer opened up about her lifelong obsession with pop superstar Justin Bieber and the lengths she went to in her youth to show him just how much she adored him.
Before attending one of Bieber’s concerts, Moroney created a batch of custom-made shirts inspired by Kesha’s iconic 2010 anthem “TiK ToK.” The shirts featured the hilarious phrase: “Dudes are linin’ up ’cause they hear we got fever, but we kick ’em to the curb unless they look like J Bieber.” Talk about a tribute!
“I just wanted to show my love for him, even if it was in a totally goofy, teenage way,” Moroney confessed, adding that her fandom for Bieber has never wavered.
Now, as a chart-topping artist in her own right, Moroney is also giving fans an inside look at her next musical venture. The “No Caller ID” hitmaker shared that she’s currently hard at work on her third album, with one song, “You for Me,” in particular standing out. She has her sights set on a potential duet with none other than Bieber himself.
“Maybe he would feel that way about Hailey. I know he does,” Moroney hinted, referencing the song’s romantic lyrics.
Moroney’s journey in music has been nothing short of impressive. Just last July, she released Am I Okay?, her second album, which she describes as “Lucky’s cooler older cousin that can drink.” She’s also gearing up for bigger stages and more intense emotional moments, something fans will certainly find in her new tracks. “Some days I wake up feeling super confident, and other days, I’m fighting the urge to text him,” she admitted.
With her “emo cowgirl” persona continuing to grow, Megan Moroney’s fans are in for a wild ride as she blends the emotional rollercoaster of love, confidence, and heartbreak in her latest work.
