Canadian superstars Drake and Justin Bieber may be long overdue for another musical collaboration — but it seems the ball is in Bieber’s court.
On Sunday, April 6, Justin Bieber sparked excitement on Instagram after posting a cryptic carousel of photos, including a moody selfie, accompanied by the caption: “Dm me if u wanna make music together.” While thousands of fans and fellow artists rushed to respond, it was Drake’s playful comment that stole the spotlight.
“I DM’d but no reply,” the rapper wrote, hinting that his message had gone unanswered.
Despite the buzz Drake’s message generated — racking up over 41,900 likes and spawning fan chatter across social media — Bieber, 31, has yet to acknowledge it publicly. He also remained silent toward other artists who expressed interest, including Big Sean, Kehlani, Jaden Smith, and country singer Bailey Zimmerman.
Fans were quick to fuel speculation and hype. One user on X wrote, “Him and Drake on a song goes triple platinum btw,” while others pleaded for the two Canadian icons to reunite musically.
Drake and Bieber’s last collaboration dates back to 2012’s “Right Here,” a track on Bieber’s Believe album that reached No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, both artists have carved out successful paths, with fans frequently calling for another team-up.
Drake, 38, recently dropped a new single, “Nokia,” with a music video released March 31 as part of his Some Sexy Songs 4 U project alongside Partynextdoor. Meanwhile, Bieber has been teasing a return to the studio. In February, he shared photos featuring producers, guitars, and soundboards, hinting that fresh tracks might be on the horizon.
Bieber’s last full studio album, Justice, was released in 2021. A new release would mark his seventh album since his 2010 debut My World 2.0, and his first major project since collaborating with Don Toliver on 2022’s “Honest” and 2023’s “Private Landing.”
Whether or not Bieber responds to Drake, fans are clearly eager to see the duo reconnect — and their playful online exchange has only made the wait more exciting.
