Katy Perry’S U.S. Tour Blasts Off In Houston — With Fans Choosing The Setlist!

by Coco

Katy Perry is back and she’s making sure her fans are part of the fun! The pop superstar kicked off the U.S. leg of her Lifetimes Tour Thursday night in Houston — and this isn’t just any concert. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of show.

At each stop on her tour, fans in the audience can use their phones to scan a QR code that links to one of Katy’s seven studio albums. Then, they vote on a lesser-known “deep-cut” song they want to hear her sing live that night. Coolest part?

Each continent gets its own album to choose from. That means fans in the U.S., Australia, Europe, and beyond will each have a different say in the setlist!

But that’s not all. Katy is bringing fans onstage, too! She started this interactive trend at her kick-off show in Mexico City last week. Two lucky audience members wearing NASA-style suits joined her on stage for a selfie.

Katy laughed and said, “I want these gentlemen to come on stage because they are dressed like my most current timeline.” That’s a nod to her recent trip to space with Blue Origin — yes, Katy has officially left the planet!

The tour, which includes 80 shows, will continue across the U.S. before heading to Australia in June, then looping back through Canada, the U.S., Europe, and finally China and Abu Dhabi by December. This is a worldwide party, and Katy is taking everyone along for the ride.

Even with all the traveling and singing, Katy is still making time for her friends. On April 28, just two days after finishing her Mexico shows, she showed up at Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem” Tour stop in Mexico City. She was totally impressed!

“Show was MAGNIFICA! The dress! The sand! Every moment was theee moment,” Katy posted on Instagram with a picture of Gaga. “So proud of you and grateful to grow up together @ladygaga. Love u.”

Sadly, Katy had to skip this year’s Met Gala, an event where she’s usually one of the most talked-about stars. But she made light of it by posting AI-generated photos that showed what she might’ve looked like on the red carpet.

“Couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL‼️),” she wrote on Instagram. She joked that last year’s fake pics fooled her mom, but this time she was with her in person. “I’m praying for the rest of y’all.”

From fan-picked songs and surprise stage guests to outer space jokes and Gaga concerts, Katy Perry’s Lifetimes Tour is already shaping up to be one unforgettable experience.
