Music legend Smokey Robinson is facing serious accusations.
Four women have filed a lawsuit claiming the 85-year-old Motown icon sexually assaulted them while they worked for him.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday, May 6, in Los Angeles. It accuses Smokey of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, gender violence, and creating a hostile work environment.
The women say Smokey’s actions were intentional and that he didn’t care about their rights or feelings.
Smokey’s wife, Frances Robinson, is also named in the lawsuit.
One woman, listed as Jane Doe 1, says Frances knew about her husband’s behavior but didn’t try to stop it — even after previous sexual misconduct settlements. She says her first assault happened in March 2023 and continued after that.
Jane Doe 2 says she worked for Smokey and Frances from 2014 to 2020. She claims she had to quit her job because Smokey kept sexually harassing and assaulting her. She says it started in 2016.
Jane Doe 3 worked as a housekeeper from 2012 to 2024. She says Smokey assaulted her many times — and even raped her at least 20 times, forcing her to lie face down on a towel.
Another housekeeper, listed as the fourth plaintiff, says she worked for Smokey from 2006 to 2024 and experienced similar abuse starting in 2007.
All four women say they were forced to resign because of the constant abuse.
Now, they are asking for at least $50 million in damages.
A press conference is planned for Tuesday, May 6, in downtown Los Angeles to share more details.
Smokey, Frances, and the women’s legal teams have not released official statements yet.
