PEOPLE magazine just dropped a brand-new special edition all about Beyoncé and her hit album Cowboy Carter. Fans can grab it now at newsstands or on Amazon, and it’s packed with everything Beyhive lovers could ask for.
This special issue dives into her Cowboy Carter journey, just as she gets ready to kick off her Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles on April 28. It also takes us back to her incredible Renaissance World Tour in 2023, with jaw-dropping photos that remind us why Queen Bey reigns supreme.
Oh, and did we mention she’s now a 35-time Grammy winner? Yep, Cowboy Carter helped her score three more Grammys this year — including Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her collab with Miley Cyrus.
When she picked up the award for Album of the Year, Beyoncé looked amazed. “I’d like to thank and acknowledge and praise all of the firefighters for keeping us safe,” she said at the February 2 ceremony.
“I just feel very full and very honored,” she continued. “It’s been many, many years. Just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work.”
In true Beyoncé style, she dedicated the award to Linda Martell — the first Black female country artist, who also appears on Cowboy Carter. “I hope we just keep pushing forward,” she told the crowd. “Opening doors. God bless y’all. Thank you so much. Thank you.”
The PEOPLE special also includes touching stories from people close to Beyoncé who share what it’s like being part of her world. And there’s even a moment with her daughter, Blue Ivy, performing by her side at a football game in Houston last December.
Beyoncé recently opened up about what inspired Cowboy Carter. In an Instagram post, she shared that the album took five years to make and was sparked by a moment when she didn’t feel welcome in country music.
“But because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music,” she wrote. “It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world.”
She added that critics tried to limit her, but she didn’t let that stop her. “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me,” she said. “act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.”
Want to see it all for yourself? PEOPLE’s Cowboy Carter issue is out now — full of stunning photos, Grammy moments, behind-the-scenes stories, and of course, all the Beyoncé magic. Don’t miss it!
