Doechii didn’t hold back before hitting the 2025 Met Gala red carpet — and cameras caught every second.
The rapper, known for her hit “Anxiety,” was filmed leaving The Mark Hotel, but not without some drama. As she tried to hide her Met Gala outfit, things got heated.
In a video shared by PEOPLE, Doechii steps out of the elevator and immediately covers her face, trying to stay hidden from photographers. Her team scrambles around her, holding up items to block the cameras. One person even wheels over a clothing rack to help shield her.
But Doechii wasn’t satisfied. In another video, she’s fully hidden but still asking for more coverage.
“I’m ready,” she says — then quickly changes her mind.
“No, stop. Give me another umbrella now — and another. I need more f—— umbrellas!” she shouts, her voice sharp and impatient.
She keeps yelling at her team, telling them to hold the umbrellas in place.
Even though the moment was tense, her final look was worth the fuss.
Doechii rocked a Louis Vuitton suit designed by Pharrell Williams, the brand’s men’s creative director and a co-chair of the night. Her bold outfit was right on theme with this year’s Met Gala tribute to “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Her look was all about power and fashion — a monogrammed blazer with a dramatic coattail, checkered shorts, and accessories that made a statement: a mini Louis Vuitton Speedy bag, a cigar, and a gorgeous Afro.
After she made it out of the hotel and onto the carpet, Doechii explained what the theme meant to her.
“It’s about blending the lines between what’s feminine and masculine,” she told PEOPLE. “It’s about challenging norms — in a stylish and gangster way.”
Doechii also paid tribute to the late André Leon Talley, a fashion icon who inspired this year’s exhibit. Over the weekend, she honored him by recreating one of his famous tennis looks — mixing high fashion with sporty style.
She wasn’t the only star dealing with Met Gala chaos. Kim Kardashian had a guard trip over her skirt, and Sabrina Carpenter reacted in real time when someone stepped on her dress train.
Still, even with the stress and shouting, Doechii made sure her big fashion moment stayed hidden — until the perfect reveal.
