Rihanna and Ciara just proved that time really can heal old wounds.
On Monday night, May 5, the two stars were all smiles as they reunited at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City. The moment was extra sweet because Rihanna had just revealed she’s expecting her third baby with A$AP Rocky—and Ciara gently placed her hand on Rihanna’s baby bump as they posed for photos together.
The two couples—Rihanna and A$AP, Ciara and her husband, NFL star Russell Wilson—stood side by side, showing the world that the drama of the past is long gone.
And if you’re wondering how Ciara really feels, she shared it the very next day on the Sherri show.
“It was so sweet running into her,” Ciara said. “I just have to shout her out because I’m so proud of her.”
She added, “This is her third baby she’s having now. We were cracking up talking about… cinco. You know I have four. So [Russell] starts talking about cinco—five—and then we start saying quatro—four—for her. But she’s gotta get through the tres—the third—first!”
Ciara also revealed that their friendship has quietly been mending for a while.
“She sent me a sweet DM a few months back,” Ciara shared. “She told me she was so proud of me.”
And the feeling is mutual.
“I’m proud of her, too,” Ciara added. “She’s rocking it in such a great way. What you get to see through our journeys as moms is that you really can do it. You can live your life. You can have beautiful, precious babies and still pursue your dreams.”
That’s a huge step forward from where they were 14 years ago.
Back in 2011, Rihanna and Ciara had a major Twitter fight. It all started when Ciara told Joan Rivers during an interview on Fashion Police that Rihanna hadn’t been nice to her at a past event.
Rihanna clapped back with a tweet: “My bad Ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.”
Ciara replied, “Trust me Rihanna u don’t want to see me on or off the stage.”
Then Rihanna hit back again with the now-iconic line: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
But that same night, Rihanna tweeted an apology: “Ciara baby, I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry.”
Ciara replied, “Let’s chat in person.”
Even though they hadn’t been seen together in public since a Grammys event in 2010, they seemed to be on good terms in recent years. In 2018, Ciara even wished Rihanna a happy birthday on Twitter.
Now, at the 2025 Met Gala, it’s official: Rihanna and Ciara are cool again.
Rihanna looked stunning in a dramatic all-black outfit, proudly showing off her baby bump after the gala had wrapped. She joked to Access Hollywood, “I feel a lot better that I don’t have to suck my stomach in anymore.”
A$AP Rocky, who co-chaired the gala, was glowing on the red carpet too.
“It feels amazing,” he told the AP. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, ‘cause we definitely happy.”
The couple already shares two sons—RZA, who turns 3 this month, and Riot Rose, who is 21 months old.
Ciara and Russell Wilson have four children together: Future Zahir, who turns 11 this month, Sienna Princess, 8, Win Harrison, 4½, and baby Amora Princess, who is 17 months.
From a public feud to laughing about baby names, Rihanna and Ciara’s journey has come full circle. And we love to see it.
